Since 1993 we have conducted hundreds of usability studies, both in our own custom testing facility, in research facilities across the country, as well as remote usability tests with local and international participants that are conducted via web conferencing tools.

Our Unique Approach

Dr. Andre and his staff have developed a unique approach to usability testing, with a focus on actionable design improvements. Our belief as that usability testing is a means to an end; not the end itself. While our clients want access to the empirical truth behind their customers' interaction with their products, they ultimately have to make timely decisions about how to respond to test results. IAA has championed a unique approach that couches the usability findings in the context of key user experience objectives and interface design elements, and provides immediate redesign guidance to our customers.

Our Role & Expertise

We have tested a wide variety of user interfaces including high-tech consumer products, software, web sites and applications, electronics, toys, medical devices, instructions, packaging, labeling, product concepts, product prototypes and much more. Across these products we have performed every known type of usability test including: assessment testing, acceptability testing, concept testing, competitive testing, benchmark testing and validation testing. In addition, our usability techniques are distinguished by our additional expertise in designing user-centered products and procedures. We feel that our interface design experience compliments our usability testing services, and vice versa.

Dr. Andre developed the first dedicated graduate course on Usability Testing and has been a mentor to dozens of usability testing professionals for the past 17 years. He leads all IAA testing projects and is the main moderator for all tests we conduct.
